Warranty!

Hi guys I've had a quote from warranty direct of £550 a year this includes FULL parts and FULL labour costs they cover 99% of issues besides wear and tear items which is fair enough.

Does that sound like a decent quote? I had him confirm they would pay the lot in the event of a claim!

Opinions?

That's cheap for them. You need to be very careful that you're getting what you need with them. Double check you've got an uncapped labour rate so you can use a main dealer if you need to- check it covers suspension parts, turbo etc- I would also add wear and tear items as this will then cover stuff like ARB bushes, wheel bearings etc. Ring them back and check they will cover

Turbo
Compressor
Alternator
Intercooller
Sat nav
Tail gate switch
Handbrake

Also check the maximum claim- the max is the value of the car and you need that for worst case engine failure.
they should cover all this including some wear and tear items for around £650

That sounds like a very good price Shocked

Is this for their Performance and Prestige cover with labour rates up to £200, so you can use main dealers?

You need to check that it also covers the suspension components as well as the emissions and airbag systems as these are extra normally with Warranty Direct. If not, then have it added for peace of mind

I have warranty Direct cover with my RRS and so far I cannot fault them as they have paid out with no issues so far on all my claims.

Cannon-fodder Thumbs Up

Further to my last I also rate the very highly- paid up for an alternator, arb bushes, wheels bearing and a few other things. But you need to haggle for the initial price and cover.

They won't cover the intercooler. They will cover the turbo, but not the hoses. Not sure why covering the satnav is worthwhile... It's a pile of Censored even when it's "working"!!! I always use Google maps on my iPhone now, sooooo much better at routing.

I paid just £600 for full WD cover (200 labour rates + wear & tear) on a 5.5 year old car. Website quote was £798, so I was happy with that. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Yeah, although I didn't go with them myself, just keep telling them it's too much monthly cost until they come down. They called me after I got a quote on their website. They said max was 15% off to me so u could save 100 quid I guess. They expect you to haggle.
Good luck!

I think my tips would be:

1). Be friendly & chatty
2). Demonstrate optionality via knowledge of alternatives, which mainly means Warranty Wise's Quentin Wilson [shudder]
3). Say that you're ready to buy today (i.e. now) for the right deal

Personally, I let them upsell me from the Lite policy I had with them during the renewal process and they made it real easy to part with the additional £335. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Good point, it depends how old the car is. They will pay for intercooler on Luxury Care (max 4 years old), but thereafter they do not. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

They paid for mine when the car was 8 years old.
