Daytime Running Lights by Osram

I had Osram LEDFOG101 units fitted a few weeks ago. I cannot speak for other model years, but on my 2011MY they were a direct replacement for the factory fitted fog lights (also made by Osram).

They have been wired up to be DRL when headlights and sidelights are off, low speed cornering lights when headlights & indicators are on (to supplement the factory cornering lights). And they have a fog light function too, but I never really need them. Apparently the wiring up was somewhat time consuming and I paid a local garage £120+VAT for their efforts, which I was OK with.

They are very bright, just like most factory fitted DRLs we see on the road today. Overall I am extremely pleased! Thumbs Up

Here is a pic of them in DRL mode.

They don't do these lights justice. The are a crisp, whiter that white light. My iPad makes them look yellow too, but my phone captures them much better

Mine are on at all times, without the corner function Whistle

What's the difference between the drl and the fog light?
I.e. Is the unit a fog light, but with an LED ring around the outside? Can't really tell from the pics on the link!

I've been tempted by these units for a while. They do look like good kit. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yes I like the idea of them but understand some mods are needed to the bumper pre facelift which I don't fancy doing Nanocom Evo

The DRL is the Nike swoopy L shape side and bottom. The fog light is the bit above it. The DRL is not on at same time as the fog light, obviously.

The DRLs look much better in real life. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

You would need to change your bumper, apparently.

They did make a version for pre-facelift RRS. Presumably these supercede that version. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Well that's me out then - not changing my bumper just to fit some new lights. You'd think they'd still be offering both versions given it's a retrofit thing and there would presumably be just as big a market for the 05-09 models. Sad
