England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Peachy don't forget to take the wheels off and put it up on breeze blocks outside your house at night. It's the new "Council estate anti theft system" that is now standard on the RRS1......... Whistle

When 4x4byfar was talking about the RRS1 being 'boxy'. He talked about them in a negative sense of course, but it made me think a little Rolling Eyes . I was driving my RRS1, on the road in the company of 2 Evoques, Discovery sport and a RRS2 in traffic yesterday. They were pretty close together in slow traffic and gave me chance to look at a them....

My conclusion after some serious thought ...( no disrespect to RRS2 owners honestly )

There is simply not enough design difference at 50 yards between these three models....my wife agreed, and in fact she had to ask me which one was the 'proper' RRS?? She, being a layman should have known immediately imo.

Now with a RRS1 even the layman can tell that it's a RRS at 50, 100, 200 yards....

Has LR simply homogenised their fleet too much to the detriment of RRS and certainly FFRR owners where these cars should stand out as being exclusive and easily recognised apart from Discos or Evoques.

Peachys car above is a perfect example, totally recognisable on the road as what it is. Boxy? I don't think so, exclusive yes, recognisable yes. Imo the best.

Again really sorry for RRS2 owners as this is simply my thoughts on the way LR has taken he design approach to the 4 models and this does not take away from how awesome any of these cars are. Don't get me wrong either I would have a RRS2 in a heart beat, but I would like to think that if I were to spend 65k on a car the layman would not think I drive a 30/40k car when they see me in traffic. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

Very Happy thanks for the comments gents Thumbs Up

Turning up Saturday to pick up the Sport I felt like the poor relation at a family party - all the RRS2 & Ewoks lined up ready for there new owners - the RRS1 sat amongst its newer cousins all lonely & unloved Crying or Very sad at first it was a little intimidating - new shiny motors with owners who most likely will never visit forums like this. The anxiety soon disappeared when I opened my new toy. Yes - in comparison - if I'm honest the RRS1 does look dated & old but only in the company of its successor. My other half also commented on the familiar look that now bonds the newer generation Range Rover Family. I too would love a RRS2 & eventually when price dictates will be a vehicle I may own. Until then I will continue to be part of the Boxy council estate RRS1 owners brigade that still in my opinion is one of the 'most wanted' vehicles to own amongst the driving population Whistle 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Well my opinion for what it's worth is that the RRS 1 doesn't have a boxy look but a CLASSIC look . And I agree Peachy they are still a very desirable car , especially down my neck of the woods .

I keep looking at buying a RRS2 but most people I know even the wife says mine looks better,so it looks like I'll be keeping it a bit longer.

Lots of people just say "nice Range Rover". They just see the bonnet lettering and don't know the difference between RRS1 and FFRR3.

I'd like a L405 FFRR at some point. A fabulous vehicle. Got some other priorities before that though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
