cheers Phil ill keep looking and i will test drive some more v6's and v8 see which i prefer

theres no point in me rushing!! waited four years to be in the position i am now so want to treat myself to something really nice.

Question for you all

Differences between RRS and a Vogue

Is the vogue a more reliable motor or do they suffer with the similar issues (06-09 plates) they look classy and comfy. Can they still be made to look nice with decent styling (nice wheels etc)

Im just weighing up all my options but i know so far i love the RRS after driving it today.

Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

I had exactly the same feeling when I first drove one. IMO they are lovely places to sit and drive.

Hope you find one that is perfect for you. I bought from a dealer (not lr) and got a 2 yr warranty and also VRI, but didn't pay top Lr dealer money. As it stands I felt I got a good deal, however I didn't buy a rrs to save money. I bought one to enjoy.

Good luck OP! Thumbs Up 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

Hello guys!

I test drove the car, i loved driving the Range Rover Sport, wow what a great looking 4x4. This was a stunning looking car with gorgeous wheels however... i kept my head on my shoulders, used all your advice and looked up and down the car all around listened to everything/checked what i physically could.

I am not going to buy this one. Its my first range rover sport ive driven. It was tidy, it has a few light scratches dotted about the car (black in colour) quite a lot of swirl marks and my OCD was going a bit crazy. The interior was immaculate besides the drivers seat that had a small hole in the side of the seat half a five pence in size.

The air suspension worked well, low setting, mid setting and max setting - it didnt take long to reach high setting, around 6 seconds i think...

The car drove smoothly and was quiet, didnt hear any knocking really..... an absoloute tiny bit over really bumpy back roads but nothing majore tbh.

Car started first time, no smoking turbo/no whining turbo etc.

I Loved it but i think the leather seat, the marks on the outside of the car and plus one thing (i think the biggest thing that did it for me) the 7 year cambelt hadnt been done. It did have a service in January and had the brakes changed/oil/oil filter etc but nothing about cambelt....

So as much as i enjoyed it i wont buy THIS ONE but im now 100% sure i want one. Loved driving it, felt sporty but solid and was extremely smooth.

I am going to keep looking. (heck ive waited for 4 years so not gonna rush it)

Thanks for all your help guys - please let me know if you guys are selling PM me if you are.

Regards
Mike Thumbs Up

Great news, and youve experienced the delight that is driving a RRS. An like you say you've waited 4 years, what will another 12 months hurt? An in 12 months for £14k-£15k you'll be looking at 2011 and higher (50k+) mileage 2012's.

You remind me of someone who would absolutely love any RRS but unfortunately cannot afford one. The quote "champagne lifestyle lemonade income" springs to mind.

I would keep hold of your mk1 Fiesta or whatever it is you haven't got. I honestly don't worry about how much I may or may not lose on our RRS, it'll be the best money I've ever lost. Ask any Villa player what an RRS1 is like to own, it makes you feel like a championship footballer, so their in a good position to answer.

You are not too far from Wellingborough where, on the Leyland Trading Estate, there is an excellent LR Indy called Iawa 4X4.
I do believe that they run a vehicle inspection scheme for those wishing to put their mind at rest prior to buying a LR. They also offer a full range of repair and modification services. I had a quote from them in January for a twin belt change on a 2.7 TDV6 for £450 inc vat.

The Vouge is a good car, and keenly priced. You get a hell of a lot of car for you money and it is very capable off road. I also think that the size of the cabin means that it is a little more flexible as a family vehicle when compared to the RRS1.

If I were you I would drive a RRS, Full Fat and a Disco. The Disco is a RRS1 with a different body on the chassis and offers superb safety, comfort and flexibility for a family.

Your budget should buy you a good vehicle throughout the Land Rover range, with a FSH and average mileage. I wouldn't go for anything that has been heavily modified or customised. Try to find something in as original condition as possible.

If you decide on an early model then anything registered before 23/03/2006 is in the low rate VEL bracket which is currently £290 per year.

I am only up the road in Rushden and currently run a small fleet of Landies, so if you need anything give me a shout.

Jim

Jim that is awesome thank you very much!! I didn't realise there's an indy in Wellingborough! Very hand ten minutes up the road. That price for belts is great too.

Yes I'm going to test drive them all over the coming weeks I'm also going to get my wife to drive it as it will be a family car Wink I think she will love driving them.

I've found a few more nice ones online I am going to try view this weekend. Even if I buy a standard one I'm only going to modify it tastefully with upgraded wheels and perhaps tinted windows... I think I'm not going to bother with a remap anymore. I might do but we'll see.

Thanks for all your helps guys I appreciate it. Like I said before you don't want to rush it and spend all your money on a dog I'd rather wait for my perfect one or near to perfect as I can get.

One thing I look for it needs to be mint inside out I like a car that's looked after. Luckily my budget does find some nice ones!
Colour wise what do you guys think is best? I love the black but crazy to keep clean.

I love grey, silver is nice and I like that blueish colour with ivory interior looks stunning.

Just asking I have no idea but how much does a wrap cost? Does it damage the paint underneath? Like the white ones but not many of them you see.

Regards
Mike

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Colour wise I think that the classics are:

RRS - Black or Grey, with interior of taste.
Disco - Silver, with black interior.
Full Fat - Silver, Grey or Black, with black interior.

All the above with factory fitted privacy glass from B pillar back....

Just my opinion though.

I have to add Rimini as joint top (as per my old D3 Wink ), but I do agree - nothing reacts to its surroundings like silver:
