MY2010 vs MY2012

I'm looking to get my first RRS, probably in April. I wondered if you could all give me the benefit of your experience as to whether to go for a MY2010, or stretch slightly & get a MY2012. Thinking of TDV6/SDV6, Budget prob 25-29k.

Thanks

+ One piece tailgate on the SDV6. Thumbs Up

Drive them both, and i'm pretty sure you will pay the extra for the SDV6. Definitely worth the extra. With the extra mpg you get out of the SDV6 over the TDV6, It helps paying towards the extra you will have to pay for the SDV6. My daily drive was only 18 mile round trip on B roads, and i was getting 30 mpg.

As a previous owner of MY10 and MY13 (which is very similar to MY12) I would go for the MY12 Thumbs Up

8 speed box is big improvement over the 6 speed and the powered tailgate is a nice feature especially when it's raining or hands full and need to put something in boot Cool

I found the later model more refined too Bow down

Worth looking at this thread http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic35261.html?highlight=my12 Very Happy Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

MY12 will have the newer and nicer looking interface layout on touch screen as well I think, also easier and cheaper to update navigation maps for what it's worth.

Cheers

Just sold my 2012 sdv6 after just over two years with it . I found it great on fuel compared to older models , lovely to drive but best of all its was totally reliable and a joy to own.

I doubled my budget, and never regretted it.

I concur. I double my budget too and went for a 2012. Interior nicer, door interior nicer, tailgate, nav, entertainment system, steering controls. Just a nicer car imo.

Thanks for all that, keep it coming.

Seems like there is a consensus - that's never happened before! Thinking that based on what you'e all said I might wait a little longer to save more & increase the budget to make sure I can afford a MY2012.

Depending on your comfort factor then buy from a main dealer and get 2 year warranty.....piece of mind Thumbs Up Visitor from fullfatrr.com
