Torque Converter -Bristol Transmissions here we come

I've started to notice the odd judder now and then when under power at lowish revs, more noticeable whilst the car is warming up. Decided to get the torque converter done so off to Bristol Transmissions next Thursday. They want it for two days and can provide a loan car - I'm not expecting much but so long as it gets me around for the two days I'll manage. Quoted 975 + VAT. Ah well, it's only money. Rolling with laughter

Car just coming up to 118k miles. Had the transmission oil/filter changed at 5yrs/50k and a "Geoff flush" at about 75k so bit surprised that it's developed the dreaded judder - probably have done it sooner had it not been flushed though. Knowing my luck, the judder will turn out to be something else anyway! Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Can't you just whip it out yourself? Confused

Good luck with it, I hope they know what they're doing and that it solves the problem. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

They seem to get a fair number of referrals on Disco3 (and they've been mentioned hereabouts too) so I'm hoping they'll do a good job.

I should think that dropping the gearbox on the driveway would be relatively easy. Getting it back in again in a working state would be whole different matter! Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I considered doing mine myself but decided against it on Steve Norman's advice and got him to do it instead. Just as well really, since, by opting to take the body off too, a knackered turbo was discovered and lots more was sorted. Hope you have better luck in that regard. Laughing Thumbs Up

How's your rear prop? Seems everyone needing a TC has needed one recently! Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
