Range Rover Sport 2.7 tdv6 HSE 2005

Hi all,

First post found your forum via a google search and looking for some feedback on the following car.

I'm looking at a range rover sport 2.7 tdv6 hse 2005 but it has 155k miles on the clock and the dealer wants £10995 for it now............ me being me and owning in the past a Discovery and the wife had a Freelander I'm aware of issues.

The freelander kept cutting out while driving or would not start so that went (wife's car) and the disco I sold years ago so...

Whats the opinion on the above I'm concerned about the mileage and future issues cos it will be the wifes car and she only for example did 4k miles over the last 2 years.

So need advise and a massive thanks from you all.

Regards

It's going to need a very comprehensive service history behind it with the mileage, you can end up spending £1500 the usual faults EPB, compressor, alternator etc worth bearing in mind Nanocom Evo

Thanks M8.

The dealer states on their advert the following:

STUNNING RANGE ROVER SPORT, FULLY LOADED, FULL SERVICE HISTORY, MUST BE SEEN!!!, Premium Navigation System, Automatic Climate Control, Cruise Control, Front and Rear Park Distance Control, Heated Front and Rear Seats, 19 inch 5 - V Spoke Alloy Wheel, Electric Windows (Front/Rear), Heated Front Screen, Metallic Paint, Powered Front Seats with Driver Memory, Radio High Audio System - Radio/CD Player/MP3/6 CD Auto changer, Rain Sensor, Ultrasonic Alarm System, Upholstery - Premium Leather. 5 seats, GREY, CREDIT TO ITS FORMER KEEPER THIS CAR HAS BEEN HIGHLY MAINTAINED REGARDLESS OF COST, VERY CLEAN EXAMPLE THROUGHOUT!.

That's it.

Not seen the vehicle yet its miles from me so doing some digging first before driving on a wasted journey hence the questions.

Regards

Should have had 2 routine cambelt changes too at that mileage, it it hasn't and is in need of one there is.another £500 thereabouts without considering an oil pump upgrade. Nanocom Evo

Any landrover that's 11 years old isn't going to be cheap to run. But we all accept that.

As mentioned already , at that age and mileage some of the known fixes could be due round again,

Service history is vital and they really are a vehicle that should be bought with a history that can be fully checked out and in good condition over one that's got all the bling on it. ( my opinion )

I bought mine from Pennine autos in Bradford, and I must say they seem to hold quality stock.

Mine was very well prepped, inc a full waxoyl underneath as some of these older range rovers are starting to show their age underneath now.

As an example he has a very tidy HSE in with much less miles on than 155k on for not that much more money...... He may haggle !! Thumbs Up Series 3 gone
90 gone
Freelander v6 gone ( thirsty pig )
Defender gone
Ktm 1290 SA (gone)

Is it a grey one in Glos ?

It's just got too many miles on in really, for the price.

Just had a look on autotrader and the pricing isn't far off for a dealer- but for very little more money you'd be able to pick one up with half the miles. It would also be a lot easier to move on when you come to change it too.
