Now that sure does seem to describe the intent of the individuals who relish in the slaughter of innocent people in some inane attempt to conquer the ‘west’ and establish global sharia.

There are over one billion Muslims on the earth but until the peaceful majority gets their act together and recognizes all of the hatred and intolerance being spewed and taught in mosques and madras schools, and then eliminates it, then the entire Muslim population is doomed to be held hostage to the murderous aspirations of their minority.

Not a single Lebanese citizen lost their life until the Islamic fascists in Hezbollah killed and kidnapped Israeli soldiers on Israeli territory. The Islamic fascist President of Iran also just said that Israel should be destroyed, while the Iranians continue to development nuclear technology to eventually try to do just that with the resulting nuclear weapons?

Let’s take a quick look back a few years. I see the London transit bombings, Madrid transit bombings, Bali bombings, Richard Reid attempted shoe bombing, USS Cole bombing, Khobar Towers bombing, Beslam school siege, Moscow theater siege, the first World Trade Center bombing, Luxor Egypt tourist massacre, and the East Africa US Embassy bombings to name just a few. Then, of course, there was 9/11 where three thousand Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Jews, and so many others were slaughtered in a single day. See a theme developing here?

You are damn right there is hatred of Islamic fascists in the West and you should hate them too, being Muslim or not, for all the horror they inflict in the name of Islam and all Muslims.

At this moment in time, i hate car dealers in general.. but apart from that im quite liberal too.. although i also agree with Bobby being a muslim, and state that the assholes who bring such a bad name to islam, and muslims in general should be hanged and quartered in public.

My dad was contacted by scotland yard the other day for his comment on this, and he said a similar thing for their community press release, we don't care.. these people aren't true muslims, who bring fear and terror to the streets and threaten to hurt civilians.. nothing more then cowards, and brainwashed freaks...

Bush and he were kissing! No more talk of democracy! Strange bedfellows!!

By the way, and kam100 too, I am NOT a Muslim. Never have been and never will be. But I respect everybody of every religion, race, creed, colour etc. And I accept that others will be different from me – looks, religion, colour and importantly their right to be what they want to be, etc.

I agree with Bobby that "The West" could benefit from taking a bit of time to seek to understand why organisations like Al Quiada, Hezbollah and Hamas can recruit so many people prepared to blow themselves to pieces whilst trying to slaughter men, women and children.

It seems to me that this may be, like so many times in history, mainly social and economic ills served up under a smoke screen of a religious justification. This religious justification may be used by some clever "leaders" to corrupt and taint the youth, but they still need their enemy (The West) to give them the fuel to power their twisted arguments.

And sadly The West seems to have a policy of fighting fire by pouring on petrol. You take a reasonably well educated Muslim youth and give him hundreds of examples of how, to him, The West are slaughtering innocent men, women and children in Muslim nations, using what appear to him to be terrorist tactics. The fact that those tactics include using weaponry costing many millions of dollars, doesn't make it feel any less like terrorist activity to that young man, as the effect is the same. Men, women and children cowering in fear after seeing their friends and family blown to pieces by "precision bombs" or cut down by very frightened, very young, poorly supported and hence very volatile soldiers.

And then in steps a clever, but sinister figure who "pretends" to be a Muslim cleric, to harness those images and turn that youth into someone who feels that everything he believes and holds dear will be destroyed unless he fights back. And the only weapons at their disposal are small home made bombs or AK47's costing 25 dollars a throw.

MI5 have only recently started to realise that the time these people need to "convert" someone from reasonable citizen of the West, to a terrorist who his family simply cannot recognise anymore, is measured in months not years.

And the actions on the ground in Gaza, Lebanon, Afganistan and Iraq seem guaranteed to still further radicalise their citizens, isolate the moderates, destroy any economic infrastructure or education system and thereby create more poverty and massively deep wells of hatred, resentment and bigotry that will produce destructive forces for generations to come.

I accept that there are no easy solutions here, but it does feel to me that a great deal of the current policy and rhetoric dished out by The West appears designed to fuel further terrorism that I am left wondering whether this is simply a result of either :

- the powers that be know a great deal more than me and have some fiendishly clever master plan that I couldn't possibly understand, or

- they actually cannot see (or don't want to see) the simple but vital flaws underlying their policies that a massive lack of understanding of the motivation and mindset of the people they are dealing with and a huge underestimation of how real life is a great deal more complex than a Hollywood film script, or

- this actually is intended to be a religious war based on the minority of Christian fundamentalists of the West Crusading against the minority of Muslim fundamentalists of the East, and the vast majority of the population of East and West with moderate feelings get swept unwillingly along and used as pawns in this extremely dangerous game.

I don't know what is behind all of this, but I do strongly feel that we need more pause for thought about the root causes (and much less time spent describing what we would do to these people if we caught them) as, sadly, there is little I can see that seems to be effectively steering the world towards a reconciliation and peace, just more and more actions and words that are going to feed the vicious cycle of hatred, despair, fear and suffering. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini
