Doesnt like going to access mode after tyres fitted

Had new tyres (45's if that make any difference) fitted last week, the tyre fitter raised it up to full height and had the hazards on/boot open for the duration (told me thats what had to be done?) and since it doesnt like going down into access mode anymore, drives fine the rest of the time and it will go into access mode if i go up and down a couple of times.

I take it that something has screwed the sensor when he changed the tyres? if it has how do i know which sensor it is that needs replacing?

If using a jack to raise the vehicle it makes sense to put it in offroad height so you don't have to jack it up quite so far. There's absolutely no need to put the hazards on; the owner''s manual mentions it simply as a safety precaution assuming you are changing a wheel at the roadside. Leaving a door open is also not necessary .

As you suggest a height sensor could be playing up as they sometimes do if the suspension is moved through a big range by the jacking. Have a look on the 4x4 information screen on the dash and see if there is red bar over any of the wheels which would indicate a sensor fault.

If nothing showing on the screen then a diagnostic session might be the next step to try? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

nothing showing on the 4x4 info screen when moving through all heights. I take it re calibration or diagnostic sessions are both main dealer visits?

when pulling into the drive this afternoon dropped it while still rolling and there were no complaints

Perhaps you're lucky and a sensor has sorted itself out; think they are just simple potentiometers and a bit of dirt can cause the problem until it rubs off?

Calibration and diagnostics can both be carried out by a good independent probably to a higher standard and lower cost than main dealer. There's not much love for the franchised dealers on this forum.

You could buy yourself a IID tool then you could do your own diagnostics and calibration. Thumbs Up 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

My garage told me to lower to ACCESS HEIGHT. And lock it at that height. Otherwise the air suspension could pop out.

We change tyres on RangeRovers regularly & I have never altered suspension & I've never had any problems at all.
Plazmapete,,I've never had a air bag pop out in a 4x4 or even when doing truck tyres so don't know we're your tyre fitter got that from

Change garages...

The air bags are bolted at the top. Think about being off road - you often have a wheel hanging in the air without the springs popping out. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Only going off what I was told. Only had the car for just over a month. The Second day I had it I had a cracked rim so took it to local garage.
