TDV8 mpg

Hi all, in my 07 TDV8 I regularly got 26 mpg running on Pirelli Scorpions but my 60 TDV8 now does about 23 on the same daily trips on treaded Cooper Zeons - is this the cause or is there any tweak I could give it? 3mpg difference is nothing to worry about but its still £500 per year so any thoughts Question

I get low 20's running general grabbers which is has a similar pattern. Best I ever got was 30 but that was a steady 70 mph on the French toll roads. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

On what are the figures bassed - your calculations or the car screen? Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

A iphone app, just put the milage in when you start, cost of fuel, milage done to next fill up, and its gives you the answer, 22mpg, my calculations get me to 23mpg and the car tells me im getting 24.7 at the moment 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

I get low 20s on Grabber ATs. Best I've had was 28 on a slow run up to Melrose but that was on Pirelli ATRs.

Based on miles covered per fill up, not the trip computer. On an 18 gallon tank, 400 miles is 22mpg, 500 miles is 28mpg approximately. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My TDV8 on Toyo Proxes returned up to 27mpg in the summer dropping to 24 in the winter. That's calculated using an iPhone app (Road Trip Lite).

Mixture of motorway, A and B roads on a regular commute of 100 miles per day which thankfully I no longer have to do! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Are you going on the same method for your 07 RRS then? The facelift vehicles have an easily adjustable readout that can be made spot on, but the pre-facelift ones are not to be relied upon and just about always over-read, so if your comparison is made on the reported figures, you are likely to get the results you see and the chances are your 07 was perhaps getting 23/24. That's a good point Lostforwords, but I did a fill to fill on the old one too. Funnily enough, the old one seemed faster on acceleration too.... maybe at 130k miles it was just loosened up Thumbs Up

Timf, the difference between the two cars could be that your newer car has a DPF and the old one not? IIRC 2010 was the first year that DPF's were fitted to RRS. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
