Somewhere on the forum is a link to a video of an RRS in South Africa first scaling what looks like an impossible climb and then desending the same slope. IIRC it was at a place called the Lion's Back Ridge or Elephant's Back Ridge. At one stage the RRS starts to slide on the way down but the driver recovered it well and it didn't end in a heap of mangled RRS at the end! It would have been impossible in a vehicle without HDC I suspect. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

As regards the tyres,I'm a big fan of cooper tyres and have used the zeons in the past but on my correct car have gone for the generals the reason being the speed ratings the coopers are rated at R which is about 117 I think but the generals are H which is 130. If you go for a TDV6 then the coopers are fine but the TDV8 T's is 130 so the coopers haven't a high enough rating.

Thanks all for the pointers on the DSC button. Yes, I knew this but I suspect many don't. In mud/ruts I will try rock crawl - I didn't know it locked the diff which is a plus. Bearing in mind Camelrocks thoughts on rating, I have the Coopers on my TDV8 so I might just tell NFU insurance... |
