If converter is slipping it should throw a code ? I wouldn't drive anymore like that - check fluid level in gearbox and condition of fluid. If you are lucky it might just need top up or fluid/filter change - but if tc clutches or bushing are going - you will need to replace ASAP before doing more damage to transmission ... |

Contact Rovertune in Reading and talk to them about it. If it's not driveable you could get it trailered to them. Not used them myself but they have had several strong recommendations on this forum.

Sounds like the TC to me. The sound that I think you refer to has been observed by sevral of us, myself included, to disappear after a new TC (I'd describe it as a metallic, light scraping sound - sound right?).
