Dealers in Wales so bit difficult - they asked for money beginning last week but I said money will be transfered only when I'm happy

Engine harness contact with the EGR casting (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) can cause the wires within the engine harness protective sleeve to wear through, exposing the actual wires which may short to the metal EGR valve. This could cause the engine to cut out with minimal warning to the driver and potentially cause a crash.

This was listed on topix against my vehicle at one stage so I know it had this and been done

Verbally told other problem was anti abrasion tape to harness which also done

Funny enough there have been complaints from owners about revised engine so soon after launch and there is a revised model range soon with additional features too Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I wonder if the wiring issue is the cause for the delay. I'm told that the Jags are now built with a harness unique to each vehicle - the RRS, for example, has a harness that is the same for all which is why you can add/change things on them. I wonder if LR now use a unique harness in the DS and this has had to be changed in each affected vehicle. Trying to sort that lot out would add huge delays in a factory already running 24/7. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Don't understand the complaints about the engine change, it was well known right from the launch that the 2.2 would be replaced with a new 2.0. I believe that the timescale was also indicated.

Perhaps some people don't do sufficient research when buying a new vehicle.

Some people absolutely must have the lastest thing as soon as it's available. Bigger fools them. Still, with depreciation plus the "oh, that's the old engine" value reduction, the rest of us might be able to pick up a bargain in a year's time.
