70mph in 50mph Zone Punishment

Got flashed by a speed camera just as I was breaking from 70mph in a 50mph zone. Those who travel along the M11 into London may know it well. It was just when the M11 joins the A406 heading towards London City Airport.

Any ideas of what punishment I can expect and how long a letter usually takes to come through my letterbox?

I was pretty furious with myself as I have always been ultra careful and the last speeding ticket I got was in 1985!

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I traveled to Essex on December 5th for a birthday, and got flashed driving home on the 6th.

I received a letter from Essex police 3 days later.

This was different though, as the letters now do not have any evidence on them, just a form to fill out to say you were the driver and accept responsibility. which is Censored if you ask me!

it gives you a link on the letter, so if you have any queries to read here... https://www.askthe.police.uk/content/@146.htm

to be honest, i was flashed 16mph over, and received 3 points and a £60 fine... so if you were clocked 20mph+ i would expect a litter bit more of a slap Censored Censored

England

I was flashed on the A1(M) at Borrowby, 92 in a 70, so similar excess.
I took it on the chin and got 3 points and £100 fine.

You won't get the offer of a safety awareness course as you're above the bracket (10% + 9mph) which in your case is 64mph. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

If you want to see the photo then you have to go to court. And if you go to court the fine will be larger and you will have to pay VAT on the fine, sorry, the "victim surcharge". The system is designed to make people just pay up and shut up. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks all.

Just wanted an idea of what I would get hit with and the replies have been very useful.

I know I was in the wrong so when the letter arrives I will just take it on the chin and pay up. Sad
