Portable car jump starters

Hi,
has anyone tried any of the portable car jump starters that also supply power for phones, laptops etc?
Just wondering if you have, do they really work i.e. start an engine with dead battery.

Thanks,

David 2007 Stornaway Grey RRS HSE 4.4 V8

Borrowed one from the Vauxhall dealers that are very close when my X5 battery died a few weeks ago. Amazing is all I can say, so much poke from something about ¼ of the size and weight of a regular car battery!
Haven't investigated prices yet, but a good bit of kit for sure...

I have a Noco Genius GB30 that I bought last time I was in Montreal, was on sale at Canadian tire, a good deal.
I haven't had to use it yet so I cannot comment if it really works.

But there was a thread on the Disco site and in general comments were on the positive side

I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

I've got one- USB, 12 volt and even three pin connections. Watching tv on a power cut really confuses the neighbours! Started a dead battery of a small engined car (1800) but not enough poke for a 2.5 , very good bits of kit though.

I bought one for an earlier car I had ( 2.0 ltr) and it worked fine, had reason to try it on the Rangie a while ago but it wouldn't even think about turning it over. If you are going to buy one make sure it's suitable for your engine size 2010 RRS, TDV8
