2008 Sport phone connection drops with Iphone 5s

Hi - I'm a new member - recently purchased a 2008 sport and want to use an iPhone 5s in the car, hands free. The phone pairs and the phone book is recognised. The voice activation key on the steering wheel works and can select phone and dial name. No dialling tone heard though - although dialing shown on display - then drops connection.
Incoming calls recognised on the drivers front dash but no ring tone and connection cuts off after a few seconds.
I have re-booted phone and re-paired to the RR phone but still the same iss. Also tried with an android - same issues - pairing ok but connection drops and recipient can't hear after initial "hello" or a second in time!
Please can someone advise?

I suspect it may the module/phone compatibility. A lot of people (myself included) have had the D4 module fitted which does away with these issues, and the newer module has a far greater compatibility with modern phones. Once your posting count has gone up a bit, PM Bodsy (Ian) on here. He retrofits on RR/Discos and he will be able to sort you out. He may even see this thread. Knows his stuff.

If you get the Phonebook, then the software on the module is the latest one.
I would disconnect the battery cables, touch the cables together (not on the battery!) for 20 seconds and then reconnect to the battery.
That resets all the ecus, then try the phone again.
5s should be fine normally. Thumbs Up

If that makes no difference, then it may be your amp (which controls what sound goes where) or your head unit. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks. I really appreciate the help. I have disconnected the cables from the battery and touched together for 20 secs, reconnected, but this has not solved the problem.

The hands free phone still cuts out in the car after 2 secs - no dialling tone or sound yet the recipient still receives the call and the line is open but no sound.

What would be my next step? You mentioned the amp or head unit?

Thanks
