MPG

Believe this or not I managed to get 40.2 MPG FROM MY 12 RRS AB 30 Liter Diesel today. Set C control to 59 MPH for about .40 mins on the motorway , any one else get these figures? Or what's your best MPG ?

Probably wasn't necessary to ask the same question in multiple threads... Rolling Eyes

Oh, I once got 28mpg from my TDV8 on a slow run up to Scotland.. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My best true MPG is about 35 (long motorway run travelling with a small horsebox. Lie-ometer reading ~37), but I almost never achieve that, because I never try too. I've never made any direct attempt at an economy run. Thumbs Up

I think the mods do help to keep the aveage up, and I can still get reasonable MPG gunning it on the motorway. Around town MPG plummets, but as soon as I'm on a decent road it's pretty good - I think the difference is accentuated by the intercooler, taking much more effect with a little speed; intake temps drop sharply as soon as you get going a bit. Wink

While the lie-ometer is clearly not accurate, I do find it represents the changing MPG moreorless correctly - just out buy a somewhat variable degree. I don't keep full track of my MPG though. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Our RRS MY11 averages 30mpg which we are very happy with. We have a 5t Burstner Motorhome which varies between 18/23mpg which we use for our annual 2200 mile European 2wk holiday amongst other trips (5k in total). The fact that the RRS gets around 10mpg more is great.

In 1982 I managed to buy my first car, a 2.0ltr Ford Capri (101bhp) which did around 23mpg if I drove it sensibly. I would have loved a 3ltr but couldn't stretch to the 17mpg. I think the RR at the time did around 12mpg.

We also have a new Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6Tdci which averages 55mpg but it doesn't give me anywhere near the same enjoyment I get from driving the RRS.

The best thing to do is just put fuel in when it needs it and enjoy.

Slightly off topic but do you know lager is around £26 a gallon. I can get 150 miles in the RRS for the price of a gallon of beer.

Me about the same. I don't ever have the On Screen Display on mpg - Just fill and drive.
I'm losing far more on depreciation than fuel, so getting hung up on mpg seems a bit misplaced Evoque HSE Dynamic
