breaking the pavement slabs

So i have a MY06 rrs and every night i get home from work, i park in the same spot... directly outside my house.

There are around 4 broken paving slabs outside (funnily enough exactly where i park Whistle ).

Anyway... so i woke up this morning with the council outside waiting to fix the slabs.

As i was coming out the house for work, i was greeted by a very large, sweaty council worker. He has said that my car had broken these slabs as it is 3 ton and i will be billed for the laying and replacement of new slabs, and again in the future if this happens again.

Im almost certain, if they were paved right rather than the four corners then they would not break in the middle. so i will be arguing the point with the council.

Anyway, does anybody else have this issue? wherever i seem to park on occasion i end up cracking the poorly paved slabs Rolling with laughter

Where are these slabs exactly - what are they part of? I presume it is legal for you to be parked there?

I'd be inclined to ignore them and tell them to get stuffed if they come back to you. There's no way they could prove it was you (beyond reasonable doubt) so I wouldn't worry about it. Thumbs Up

I would be very careful here, you're 3t car is probably causing potholes everywhere to get worse, could lead to a massive bill Rolling with laughter Over for a visit from disco3.co.uk

If there's a 3 ton weight limits for parking on the slabs then you can tell him that's OK as your car doesn't weigh 3 tons more like 2.5 tons. Just speak slowly and show him pictures, it might take a minute or 2 to sink in.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

My monoblock drive has sunk at 4 points, where I park my D3 every night.

I think I should bill JLR for a new driveway, for making the cars so heavy Whistle

Flags should always be laid on a full bed having any sort of void underneath weakens the paving

I your car weighs 2.5 tons divide that by 4 it works out to 625kg per wheel that sounds better, so if two wheels on pavement that's only 1.25 tons.
Where did they park their vehicle ??
