When was the pollen filter last changed? A blocked filter will cause this. As a quick check, take the pollen filter out completely and run the vents without the filter in. if they blast out, then the filter is blocked |

Thanks pal, I will give it a go tomorrow. If it isn't the pollen filter, do you know what the next port of call will be? It's really annoying. |

Can you actually hear the fan running and getting faster as you turn the fan speed dial? |

No. No response what so ever. It tries to turn, makes a fart noise then there is no movement what so ever. I have been informed that it may be the resistor. |

When was the last time you checked your aircon refrigerant? I've just read an item in the motoring section of a Sunday paper where a reader has reported a similar issue with an S600 Merc. The newspaper's technical adviser suggests that if the refrigerant level is low then most climate control systems have a system that shuts down the ventilation system completely to prevent damage to the aircon system. Might be worth checking the aircon side of the ventilation system for a low level/ leak, all you might need is a regassing of the aircon to fix the ventilation system. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for that Tim. That sounds like its worth a look. Somebody on here reported the same issue with their RR and found it to be the Heater Resistor. To change the resistor I need to remove the glove compartment but cant find the relevant info to do this. |

The resistor usually gives the symptoms of fan not not working on any speed other than the highest. Worth checking the heater fan wiring plug to make sure it hasn't overheated and melted giving a poor connection at the motor. |

Hi Gary, managed to get to the resistor and i didn't need to remove the glove box either which was a bonus. I removed the resistor then ran a piece of wire from one of the largest connection ports to the other large connection port (there are 4 altogether, 2 big and 2 small ports) on the plug that connects to the resistor. The blower motor then kicked into action eliminating a faulty blower motor. So its either the resistor or the actual controls of the fan thats the issue. I wont know until my new resistor arrives. |

ok well the resistor will be the cheaper option. It usually behaves the way I said in my last post if the resistor is faulty, but as you say; you'll soon find out. |

Sorry for the late post. I have fixed the blower motor issue, the problem was the resistor. 30 mins to change it all in all at a cost of £70 inc VAT for the part from Land Ranger Services in Middlewich. |
