Found a nail in a tyre today. Slight loss of pressure so needed repairing and, being a Sunday, the only place open is Kwik Fit. I wouldn't normally use them but needs must.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they do not use air guns on the wheel nuts anymore. Hopefully other tyre places will follow suit and we can keep our nuts in good condition! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

They haven't done for years. They do them up by hand, torque them up properly and another guy should check torque them. I used to be an area manager for them many many moons ago

When I briefly worked for them (about a year), I had 5 depots to look after and I made a ruling that all depot managers should write the torque setting used onto the sales receipt. Just a bit of an umbrella for us should the wheels come off

You didn't mention if they used your suspension compressor to jack your car up though....
Should i ever be very desperate to use Kwik Fit, I would have to supervise thier every move..

I did watch them jack it up; like most places seem to, they l put the jack under from the rear. Safely away from the compressor.
