SWMBO was Scanning eBay classified and came across a nice and clean looking Freelander 2 HST fairly close. After emailing and asking for service history the car seemed to be very well serviced and a viewing was arranged. I then Ran an HPI and found the vehicle had outstanding finance, no mention of any outstanding on advert
I call the guy and he then proceeded to tell me he THINKS the settlement is 16K and car is up for 12K so I then ask if he can cover the difference to pay off the total whilst we are present or we cannot come to a deal. His reply was I cannot settle the finance on the day if you brought the vehicle! The viewing was promptly cancelled as I don't wish to get involved in all the aggro.
The moral of this story is ALWAYS always HPI a vehicle no matter how old or how little money it's up for as you will be surprised what people will hide and not tell you until it's to late.
SWMBO has her heart set on a FreeLander 2 HST as they look a little meaner according to her so the search continues 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I have reported the listing to EBay, and told them that the ad doesn't mention any outstanding finance and that other people could buy the vehicle with potential of it being repossessed if they don't HPI it.
The guy selling seemed genuine as in fixed address etc but I don't fully think he understands the importance of settlement while both parties are present. I did try and explain this over the phone to him but I'm not sure if it fell on deaf ears 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I hope it has sunk in now, as I would hate to see someone else lose their cash or potentially the car if they brought it 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black
