TIRES PROFILE TOO LOW FOR MY TASTE HELP

My RRS 2010 came with 275/40 ZR20 an I believe that they are too close to the ground. Do anybody knows how hight can I go?

It can be 45? or 55 or higher? without loosing confortability or performance

best

I agree with you on firm ride and would recommend fitting 19" as I did in winter Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Personally I wouldn't deviate from profile in handbook

You do so at your own risk and would need to inform your insurance and forget any chance of warranty or goodwill from LR in the event of components failing

It will affect your speedometer and mileage readings too

Safest option is the 50 profile on 19“ as per LR spec which are cheaper then sell your 20" wheels and get back some money Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I never had an issue with LR warranty claims and I've made plenty and been running 255/55/19 for 4 years. I have told my insurance company though although they didn't seem too worried and just added it to my policy.

Note that RRS 19in profile is 50 not 55... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My bad Embarassed

G4 were fitted with 55 profile but I know owner who had warranty claim rejected as they weren't as per handbook so I guess it's depends how nit picking dealer and LR want to be

I'd rather follow book because I have enough problems with dealers without inviting more Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

The specific tyre can make a huge difference. When I swapped 20" Contis for 20" Pirelli Scorpion my life changed. Much more comfortable. Trade off being the car no longer handles like a hot hatch. Definitely the right compromise. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

If you are keeping with the 20's you could go with 275/45r20's or if you go with 19's you need 255/50r19's.

Hola chicho20,

I have the same issue with those stupid 20" wheels! They may look really cool, but make the ride a little firm, and it's very easy to damage both wheels and tyres!. I drive all over the UK for work, some roads here are a lot worse than others, and I've already destroyed more than one low profile tyre on other cars I've had Wink
My preference on the RRS is to go down to an 18" wheel, and get tyres to suit. Here is a useful website that shows the correct wheel / tyre combination:

Saludos
Simon
