Been offered a a/b - thoughts on spec?

So I've been offered a physical car rather than wait for a bespoke. Spec is

Carpathian
22" wheels
Privacy
Grand black trim
Fixed side steps
Ebony/Ivory

It's not perfect spec for me as wanted the sliding pan roof rather than fixed and wanted santorini roof contrast.
Also wanted electric tow bar and surround cameras.

Does anyone have pics of a dark grey with no contrast roof? Also views on surround camera. I'm coming out an x5 which has full surround top view.

surround camera and pan roof can't be added subsequently, and the electric tow bar can, but it's best part of £3k vs £950 on a new build.

It's doesn't close enugh to your requirements to take, unless of course the price is that fantastic

R444SPT it's about 85% right but the main draw is that it skips a 4 month wait! Just trying to work out if I will get the "I wish I'd waited " feeling if I went for it.

patience is a virtue -
best things come to those who wait.

Long story short - Took 22 months for my original spec to arrive - yes I had some frustrations in that time, but I think each time I had a loan car, whilst mine was being servced, I would of been more frustated. Incidentally one of the original asks which didn't help the delay was wanting to keep with a 4.4 and no thave a 3.0 -

I have since August been in a 3.0 - whilst a replacement 4.4 is sorted and there are some things I really miss from mine

1) Engine
2) Blind Spot Monitoring and TSR ( never expected to miss the TSR )
3) Surround Cameras (mainly when towing off road, but occaisionnly coming out of the drive)
4) Cooled Front Seats
5) FBH / Remote Park
6) The higher spec stereo I had.

the rest I can take or leave to varying degrees , although it was a bit of a shock to find I had tempoarily gone from ACC to CC - the adaptive bit makes quite a difference - or it would of if it were still there.

oh and just for comedy value - I missed it had no deployable side steps the first time I got out it, and it wasn't lowered.
Wasn't going to do that again.

I too came from an X5, you might want to have a look at the surround camera on RRS in person, it's not in the same league as the BMW.

Yeah they don't merge the cameras on the RRS like they do on the Beemer do they. the whole Infotainment of the RRS is very BMW 2007! The thing is that I have a tight turn into my driveway as I enter the driveway so I need to have the cameras as I have to get through the gates tight.

Hmmm so hows that been as an experience!? I have had a 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, and now a 2014 X5 as well as numerous BMW's before that. Have you been bothered by the lack of up to date infotainment.

If you change your car every 12 or 24 months, then go for it.

But I keep mine longer, and I love the surround cameras and my sunroof (on my old model), so personally I would wait. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

I had a 2010 X5, so the step back in tech was not so bad for me, the one thing I really don't like is the way you have to switch between NAV and Radio just to change station (they really under utilized the massive screen they have for the dials) also things happen at a much slower pace in the RRS from how long it take to turn the heated seats on or change radio station to the amazingly slow reaction time of the front parking sensors (again why did they not repeat the sensor information on the big screen?).
That said my car is a March 2015 and I think some of these issues have been addressed by now, and the question I get asked by my friends, knowing what I know now, would I have bought this car? Yes, for all its 'issues' on the tech side, its a great car to dive, lovely to look at and it sounds sad but I like the attention it gets. After 8 months and 14,000 mile it still puts a smile on my face ever time I drive it.

The MY16 cameras do merge the cameras for a plan view and the seat heating/cooling is now instant as can be controlled by the knob on the dash. LR are getting there!!

Facelift? When is that due?

I have been considering how long I will keep mine having just taken delivery last month. Initially I thought about changing at 3 years, but if an all new RRS is launched in 4-5 years then it would not be sensible to dump another 80k on the car at that time. MY16 (65) RRS, HSE, White, 21" 507s, Pan/Black Roof, 7 Seats, Ebony/Cirrus, Surround Cams, Fully Color Coded
