Companies selling Rock sliders?

I have searched the forum but all the threads are very old. Does anyone know if any companies sell these for a RR Sport in the UK? I have tried Prospeed as a lot of the disco boys use these but they don't make for a sport Big Cry

Failing that somewhere abroad maybe, need some sill protection before its to late and side steps are not my thing, Whistle

Help required please as lots of searching and no luck Embarassed 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Sadly there is UK slider/tree bar for the RRS - total lack of demand. I too have looked and found nothing.

I did consider buying a Disco set and modifying them to fit; Land Rover scuppered that plan when they designed the RRS. Unlike the Disco, the RRS's doors come down to the bottom of the body. The Disco's stop short and the sliders are able to be flush with the bottom of the body. On the RRS, the slider will have to sit below the body, level with the frame just as the steps' brackets do.

Part of the problem is that the RRS has the totally pointless plastic mouldings at the bottom of the door. I keep thinking about getting a body shop to remove them and fill the door bottoms. Be expensive and prone to damage though so may not be a good solution.

I do have some ideas for a slider/bar/step but it does result in a loss of ground clearance under the cills; that's unavoidable as far as I can see. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Lucky8 in the US used to make them, till about 2 years ago.

Beautifully made and strong, but expensive.

RRSTDV8- what you lose in clearance you could make up by using extra height with an IID tool. I wonder if RLD would make some as he makes for discos or did?

Flydive- There is a guy running some in Australia on a facelift sport but again the shipping is the killer being such a heavy item Big Cry

I'm paranoid that I'm going to do some serious sill or door damage soon. Seriously thinking about a Disco 4 in the near future as there is so much more available Embarassed 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I keep thinking that a D4 would be a good idea. The D4 is little different to the RRS on road and there is a huge amount of off road stuff for them. I do like being "wierd" by actually off roading a RRS however. Just to make a point I guess.

I had wondered about approaching RLD about some sliders and a RRS version of his sump plate too. Never got around to it though... Embarassed 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I know what you mean about being different and using a sport, I often get comments and people think they can't do anything and end up very surprised! On that Land Rover trec day in Devon back in September everyone commented how easy the sport made it look Laughing Thumbs Up

Unfortunately I live to far away to lend him my car as a mule if he was interested in making some! Rolling Eyes 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

There is also a German (not sure about that, it may be Dutch) called IIRC Matzker who make all sort of bits for Land Rovers including super super-super height mode modules and bolt on kit for air suspended cars. I haven't looked on their website in a long time but they used to make a lot of bits for RRS1 as well as Disco3. Also in years gone by Mantec supplied all the protection kit for the G4 RRS's, I don't know if they are even still in business 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Mantec are still going, that's what underbody protection I have Tim Thumbs Up they don't keep anything on the shelf and only make to order due to lack of demand for the sport.

Even better I bought a sump guard for a freelander1 in 2001 and I still have it to protect my RRS2.................. cst me 10k back in 2001 but by god it was money well spent as it has protected 2 FFRR's, 3 RRS's and 2 Evoques in addition to the Freelie1. This magic piece of kit was also made by Land Rover and was called a TDi300 Defender............. Mr. Green Still have it and it is a great piece of kit, even though I took/take all my other Land Rovers offroad I know where I can do it without out adding damage to them as a result of owning the 90 as well and I don't mind adding charachter to it as I know it will never have to go near a main dealer to be considered as a part exchange. It has also been the most reliable Land Rover product I have owned. It never needs software upgrades, it is almost as it left the factory (well it was a hard top and is now a stationwagon, it had a new chassis in 2011 and it had all the braking and suspoension components renewed then, it had a hydraulic mile marker winch added but otheriwse the mechanicals are all original and run beautifully 19.7 years down the line 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Matzger stuff is very expensive from what I've seen. Mantec only do the sump guard, sadly. No one does a snorkel like the D3/4 can get.

I have a genuine LR RAI in my garage from a previous sport, have just brought 2010 wing grill off eBay with thoughts of making it fit! Shocked there is a guy on here called zilch in Australia that has had one done by a company over there. Just not had the time to play with it yet Laughing 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

It can be made to work; it is an expensive option when compared to a made-as-a-snorkel kit for the Disco that costs half the price of the LR RAI. That's the point - no market for proper kit so no supply either.

Lots of big shiny wheels and bling add ons for RRS. Big Cry 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
