2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Firenze Red
2012 MY Hockey Stick Replacement

Hi all,

Desperate to get rid of the wood trim and am just about to,push the button on a black set, however, I haven't been able to find any info on the forum, or online on how to do it.

Plenty on the previous model, but nothing on the facelift.

Has anyone done it or have a guide on how to do it?

Thanks,

J 2012 RRS HSE. Firenze Red.

I put this info up before, all. I can say is get ready for a major strip down of the centre console just to fit these Big Cry
You have to literally remove the whole top console and strip down the cup holders and ashtray and remove the gear surround just to get at the screws. It is a pain in A Censorede also all the clips will break when removing the console you'll need to get replacements. "I know this"........ :whistle

Don't break nothing otherwise you'll be Big Cry

I thought I'd update....

I've tried twice now, both times I've given up. Big Cry

I've manage to raise the trim up, except the part around the gear selector- it just won't budge...

Giving up again for now. 2012 RRS HSE. Firenze Red.

Just to give you a update Sad

As you have the rotary selector it is all attached to the main gearbox unit in the console. hence why trying to pull it wont budge Big Cry
If you had the gear lever pre-2012 you simply remove the gear lever ( this pulls straight off. ) and the gear selector stays put. Although the toughest part for me was pulling the console off and pinging all the clips off. Making sure you don't break nothing.

Land rover should of made the Hockey sticks a clip in flush part not a major strip down. As I said all the cup holder compartment and ash tray have to be removed just to get at the screws which fix the hockey sticks. This has to be removed and turned upside down to get at. All the wiring has to be uncliped which feeds the heater controls, rotary gear selector, and park brake, have to be unplugged as well. Again a pain in the back side.
I then had a few hrs of gearbox fault, park brake fault etc etc once all plugged back in. I did a full re-set on the car Mad which eventually cleared the faults.

You could try getting some gloss black wrap and a hair dryer sharp stanley knife and doing it that way. I know someone who has done this and they got scratch resistance wrap in a gloss black. Thumbs Up

Hi Jason,

If you have the 2011 model with facelift and rotary gear selector I have a full set of instruction, done mine last year and takes about 30 minuted once you get the hang.

Yes I have, and if I can do it I'll have your babies!

Seriously, if you could let me have them I would be genuinely grateful- I don't like not being able todo something and it's been driving me mad this week trying to figure it out!

Cheers,

I'll look at home tonight for the schematics, from what i remember though;

remove CD slot cover with small thin blade, just pops off, remove screws now visible, the whole centre console will now lift up, disconnect the electrics, 2 fittings that just separate, this is the rotary connector and height adjustment, ruen upside down on a flat surface, and unfortunately has to be totally stripped down from their to access hockey stick screws, straight forward and I managed and am totally non technical.

As said though , will try and find instructions tonight
