Don't bank on that for the purposes of retainng a remap though. It may not take any equiptment to make them suspicious; the chaps at the dealers will drive these cars day in, day out, and they may well be able to feel the difference... Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Yes, all IIDTools except the first hardware generation (LED on the label) are capable of making a backup and export the current map on the server for analysis. This free service is provided by the good people at Bell Auto Services (BAS). These are the basic steps. More details are found in the user manual. -Simply contact Pete at Bell Auto Services ( bellautos AT hotmail DOT com ) and he will grant you access to the custom firmware. -This firmware is then uploaded in the IIDTool using the updater software. -Use the PCM Engine ECU backup function to save a copy of the engine ECU firmware in the IIDTool’s memory: IIDTool Menu->ECU Flash->Backup PCM Flash and wait until completion. -Use the updater software to upload the ECU Backup to the server. The file will then be accessible by BAS. Verifying if a vehicle is re-mapped is free of charge. If the vehicle is not remapped, BAS will offer you a solution with the associated cost. If the vehicle is already re-mapped, it can be left alone or returned to the original map at a cost of 25 GBP (GAP Fast Lane Service). Another map can also provided by BAS. EGR blanking is also available. Cheers http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/ Last edited by PatGapInnov on Tue Nov 03 2015 9:11pm. Edited 2 times in total |

If you don't have an IIDtool then I can remap for you also. I'm a BAS authorised dealer. Bodsys Brake Bible

When I bought mine it was mapped (superchips). The only reason I knew was that rob at rovertune said it flew and was definitely mapped. A bit of delving (and a mail to the prior owner) confirmed that. Mapped tdv8 cars are great, but I actually took mine off as the superchips map is much like for their other cars and is very on/off. Personally, I enjoy the tdv8 minus the map and it drives beautifully. Let us know what you think too. That said, I will look at one from bodsy next year as I fancy getting the egr valves blanked and some remote heating installed at the same time..... 2010 TDV8 |
