buying a new 65 plate range rover want to ask a question or2

Hey a dealers near me are giving me a good price for my car so I accepted and they already have a car prebuilt there, and I like the colour too... just waiting for stuff to process its a 65 plate. Im guessing MY means model year? Will it be a MY16 or MY15 since its a 65 and im unsure how would I check and is there any differences? Thanks

Edit: the car is brand new btw

It should be a MY16 unless its dealers old stock in which case I would guess at MY15.5.

You could ask the dealer to confirm its latest MY but they may of course lie. Assuming its an SDV6 your looking at if its MY16 it will have the Adblue facility, the filler is located on the far right of the engine bay.

If you can get the VIN number, put that into ToPix and it will give you the full build spec of the car.

Hope this helps, Tony 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018

Ad Blue is the biggest pain in the backside! Luckily my RRS is MY15 so does not need it (I think and hope so anyway!?) however my Merc does and after 8k miles it asked to be topped up. £60 a dealer or £20 for 4 litres at Halfords. If you don't top up it does not let you start the car Shocked Shocked

A urea solution that turns NOx into nitrogen gas (and CO2 as a byproduct).

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I wonder if LR will remove the need for AdBlue for 2017MY now that the EU has reduced the levels of emissions car makers need to meet in the last few days? The new allowed level of NOx and CO2 is now 4 times higher than it was earlier this year! I wonder if the VW fiasco has anything to do with it too............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I wonder when they will announce availability of the SCV6 (petrol) in the UK like those available in the USA?

Adblue is guaranteed to annoy buyers. A colleague of mine has gone hybrid (Lexus NX) to avoid this on the Discovery Sport. Regards

Malcolm

What a fuss!

It only needs refilling at regular service intervals, and if it needs a top up in between, any main dealer will do it free of charge.

Refill at main service - from the book 'DEF consumption can vary greatly dependant on driving style and conditions etc.' My dealer will charge for between service to-up and its a 250 mile round trip to my nearest dealer and for that matter anywhere else that currently sells the dammed stuff. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. I am shocked as most service stations sell it! It has been about for years...well 2007 since Euro 4 emissions were implemented. All lorries since 2007 run Adblue..... We use it on our Horsebox and in reality it's a piece of p:ss....
