Having had the 3.0l as a courtesy car whilst mine was in for repairs I can confirm that the difference is night and day, I was so happy to get back into my 5.0.

You don't say what sort on motoring you would use the RRS for, I would advise that if it is just a "fun" car you are looking for and you only use it for stop/start short trips then the S/C would be the one to go for. There are no benefits to owning a diesel if you do less than 10k miles a year. You also have to factor in that slow traffic use can cause DPF problems with the diesels that rarely get out of town. If you use the car for towing then either will haul more than most folks need but towing with a S/C will also need an additional oil well to be towed as well! I'm surprised that you could find an LR dealer with an S/C on the their demo fleet unless it was a car taken in as a part exchange, they sell so slowly that dealers usually only get them in as a confirmed customer order. Don't forget that there is also the earlier 4.2 S/C if you are only looking for a plaything car and they will be old cars now with highish miles. Have you looked on the Land Rover Approved website, you can filter it to sort out all the S/C's if you are happy to look all over the UK for a car. I have no problems with either the power or the handling of my 2015 3.0ltr, has quite sufficient get up and go to handle the mostly fast A road and motorway hauls I do in mine. Yesterday I drove from West London to rural Central Scotland in 7 hours including two comfort stops. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
