Tow bar advice

Just removed the aftermarket tow bar from my Range, as it was huge, I don't have anything to tow, and my shins argue with it often!!

Now... Seeing the picture below IF I ever wanted to tow a light trailer, like garden rubbish to a tip for example, can the ball just be attached to the bit that drops out, or do you really need the arms bit aswell? I'm assuming the arms are for heavy towing like a caravan or a car on a trailer etc?

Why don't you flog it and with the cash buy one of the detachable ones you can store in your boot?

That is a thought, but I never have the need for a tow bar, saying that I will keep just in case! and then in the future if for whatever reasons I regularly need a tow bar then I would probably buy n attachable one.

Can anyone advise on whether or not it can be used for light towing without the arms attached though, and if so what sort of weight can I tow with it? (Its simply one bolt to fit without the arms!)

I would not use this tow bar without the arms attached. It's designed to be fitted with the arms, if anything happened like a trailer coming loose you could end up in all sorts of trouble. Get. The proper detachable one that is designed for the job. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
