I use Gatwick and always found them pretty good. Vanessa Leach is the service desk manager there and is brilliant - really down to earth person that you can have a frank chat with about stuff!

Feel for you Hobster. Why did you go to Brighton rather than Pulborough? Mine needs to go in for the AHBA so will try Gatwick as they are so close to me.

Been so busy lately we have hardly driven it but good so far. Had a bit of tank slap backing down a slope but not heard much so hoping I may not need it after all this. It is a 1/4 to 1/3 full at the moment but away on business for a bit.

Brighton is only 5 mins from me, Pulborough is 45 mins. Thought it would be fine as still Harwoods. MY16 SDV6 AB Dynamic Stealth

Same issue for me, Hobster, I think you are nearby ...
To continue my tale, the two things that were due to be replaced at Pulborough yesterday (interior aluminium/exterior roof rail insert) were not done ... The inside job will take hours, apparently (did they only realise that when I had driven myself over there?) and the outside one a) needs painting (see above question) and b) the part was mysteriously unsatisfactory, anyway (same question again, I guess!).
Nice service and friendliness, but total fail, really ... End of next month, they are going to pick it up and drop it back the next day. We'll see what occurs.
Is there a theme emerging?

So Hobster, how would you rate the RRS experience to date?

Car now back and all works completed.

They were very apologetic and actually made me beleive they were. Got a full tank of fuel and a big discount off labour and parts of the mudguards.

They also promised me something nice as a replacement car when it needs anything in the future if I give them some notice.

Overall I am happy, they did communiaste with me everyday and have made good.

The only real error is not managing expectation well. They can work on that one quite easily.

In terms of RRS experience to date, still good. They just need to get the Brummy Build Quality sorted and enhance the aftersales delivery to promise and they would be right up there. I cannot fault the buying experience itself. MY16 SDV6 AB Dynamic Stealth

I am pleased to report my very recent LR dealer Service experience has been very good.

My car has been in for it's 2nd year service at Farnell in Guiseley (West Yorks). In addition to the service, I asked them to carry out the 'Security' recall, fix the fuel slap issue, rear bumper gap issue and passenger side window mechanism was making a noise. Also, a rattle from the driver side B post needed looking at. This had been fixed during the previous service however, the rattle had returned.

They loaned me a FFRR TDV8 and we were quoted approx 2 days. They didn't have the Fuel Slap Fix Kit is stock and I had forgotten to take the spare key for the security update. When they called to advise on the second day and I elected to leave the car with them and dropped off the spare key so that all the work could be completed. Compared to the previous service last year, I received a call once a day with an update on progress. They asked to keep the car until Monday (1 week after drop off) to ensure my car had been through an additional QA process, given the work that had been done.

When I collected the car, the Service Manager stepped in and went through the list of work completed, he then drove my car to the front door and escorted me to the car to ensure I was happy with everything. When he explained how they had adjusted the rear bumper to fix the gap issue, I remembered that the rear spoiler had rubbed on the rear black plastic Q panels and the rear door shut seals had discoloured. He inspected these and agreed to change the rear panels and adjust the rear spoiler to prevent this from happening again. He called later in the day to let me know the door seals could be replaced under warranty and booked the car in for the following Monday (this week). The rattle in the B post had not been completely resolved so he asked if he could have the car for a couple of days to give them time to find the route cause.

Once again, I had a FFRR loan car and they kept my car for 4 day's. Everything was resolved and I went out with the Service Manager to ensure all rattles were fixed to my satisfaction. I was informed that they had replaced all of the clips that hold the drivers door car card in place.

My car is on a 5 year service plan and everything else was covered under warranty, so no cost to me. Whilst I have used this dealer for the last 10 years and Service has been OK in the past, they have really improved their game and have certainly taken note of feedback provided following last years service. Current:

Sounds great, what did they do for the bumper gap? Closed completely or just improved? MY16 SDV6 AB Dynamic Stealth

Unfortunately, I don't have a before and after picture however, here is the after picture:

Also, I asked the dealer to sort the squealing brakes. They have changed the rear brake pads which I am told have a different compound. This was done under warranty. My car has covered approx 17k miles, Current:
