Car in the dealer and has been driven 15 miles today...

My new car has been driven 15 miles today on a 40 minute journey averaging 18mpg according to InControl when it is in the dealership for 'snagging'.

I have no idea what would denote them needing to drive it so much and I've not averaged as low as 18mpg on any journey to date in the SDV6.

I'm guessing they've 'ragged it' which has annoyed me.

Am I overreacting? Should I ask why it's been driven?

I make that an average of just over 20mph?
Your in control app should give you the route taken and start end time which may with some common sense applied allow you a better interpretation of how it's been driven.
I have a 2 mile trip for sunday papers and often get 10-15mpg as opposed to 30+ mpg when doing 50-70.

Equally you may be spot on and they have caned it and then even more like Miss Daisy afterwards!!

2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Firenze Red

When I read posts like this, I'm glad I have got a dashcam in mine.

On one of the Audi forums I was on, one of the members set his to on the whole time it was out of his sight- he had asked them not to wash it and left a couple of post it notes to remind them of the fact.

The 2 techs took great delight in taking the pi$$ out of him and then giving it a wash badly. If I recall they also didn't do part of the service on it. Which was evidenced from the footage from the dashcam.

So, for my piece of mind my one is always on! 2012 RRS HSE. Firenze Red.

Mine was dropped off at the dealers for a few (fairly minor) issues yesterday and its showing up as in Bradford right now, the dealers is in Bury some 36 miles away!!

So far since it went in yesterday its done 46 miles.

Last night it was at the dealers showing as unlocked with the window open!

I don't think I like this incontrol thing. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss

My first RRS had a 100 miles on it after service and I confronted dealer but got nowhere - it's disgusting that staff can have a jolly in our LRs and dealers deny it Evil or Very Mad

after some further googling it appears that the car is at "just car clinic". they must be rectifying the paint issues with the front sill. i find it hard to believe that there is not a paint shop closer to bury than that! as long as it comes back in decent condition and the paint job is perfect then i'm not bothered.

I was at my dealers this morning dropping my car off and speaking with the service chap whilst waiting on something I mentioned the In Control snooping he said if it was a new RRS then they might have had to regenerate the DPF with takes 20 mins then drive at set revs for 20 mins

They also mentioned that their paint company was just car clinic and they sent my car there when I found a blemish in the paint, was very happy with the result

npinks that's comforting about the paint. 2nd land rover 2nd paint defect! my evoque had a hair about 2 inches long in the wing! but the resprayed wing was a better finish than the factory.

the "DPF amber light" fix was on the job card i hope they did the regen on the run yesterday

The care and attention that Mini was showing on the production line puts JLR to shame, and a mini costs ⅓ the price of many RRS's .................. I just hope a few senior managers at Halewood and Solihull were watching, but with the arrogant attitude of senior managers at JLR to customer complaints it wouldn't surprise me if there had been an instruction from JLR that employees were not to watchg the programs 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
