Negotiating with local LRJ dealer. A customer ordered Nov 2014 and build date was Feb 3rd 2015 with delivery to dealership soon after. Customer then canx order so car has been in stock approaching 10 months. Dealer showed docs purporting to show vehicle as a MY15.5. Topix shows car as MY15. I've yet to advise the dealer ref this Topix date. A couple of que before I do - ducks in a row etc! Does Topix only show full yrs? i.e. can someone with a MY15.5 car see if Topix show as MY15.5 or MY15? Secondly, when did MY15.5 cars start to be factory produced and lastly what obvious differences are there between MY15 and MY15.5? (definitive proof) Thank you. |

Did as you suggested DRDILL and spoke to Coventry. I'm somewhat astonished that they are unable to confirm if its MY15 or 15.5. Topix only shows full years apparently! Also could not tell me the differences between 15 and 15.5 specs. Pointed me back to dealer saying they would know. Added complication now is it appears that LR invoiced the dealer based on Nov 2014 prices but I'm being steered by dealer towards a basic price for the car at 2015 prices. I'm assuming this rise took place early this year, the increase being £900 + Vat = 1080. Is the dealer attempting to secure extra profit here or perhaps this is genuine working/sales practice? Chap however was polite and helpful and emailed extra info re the car. Dealer visit either today or tomorrow to front up with these concerns. Many thanks. |

I believe MY15.5 started with SVR, which was the second week in January. |

So the dealer is using the 'honest' card insisting, despite same order pattern as DRDILL i.e. ordered Nov 2014 & built Feb 15, that the car is priced at the current 2015 price rather than the order date Nov 2014 price. Also it's definitely a 15.5MY car...honest....says here on the paperwork! I'm inclined to accept the later but still somewhat reticent about the price year. However, another option reared up during my visit resulting in yet another dilemma. The dealer is keen to shift this (new but soon to be in stock for nearly 10 months car) and a discount was offered putting it at the same money as a new order 3.0 RRS.

I'd be inclined to find out what the spec changes between 15 and 15.5 were and then you will have a definitive answer rather than checking paperwork ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Totally agree but seems hard to fulfill BC. Topix only shows full yrs, customer svcs referred me to dealer, salesman and colleagues could not recollect the 15 to 15.5 changes but again produced paperwork showing 15.5. I'll accept this for now but if I go with this vehicle I'll be sure to get a definitive answer. Thanks. |

Not sure if this is standard spec, but there was talk in this thread about in-control touch.
