I've looked through all the cleaning and detailing posts but can find nothing that talks about the water stains one gets on the black plastic on the side of the seat i.e. Near the electric seat switches. Also on the black plastic trim alongside the Centre console.

The stains are like a water stain. Any suggestions on what to use to get these plastic trim areas back to new. Current Merc GLE 3.5d 2016 model, 2011 RRS HSE standard

Previous to LR's 3 x Merc E320 estates - fantastic load carriers and long distance cruisers, ultra reliable. Only changed as needed a 4x4 high tow vehicle. Did have a 1955 early LR drop down windscreen and fuel tank under the drivers seat; again very reliable and super rugged.

Autosmart G101 general purpose cleaner is pretty good all round, and 303 Aerospace Protectant to finish off.

This would be my first combination choice.

The other thing that works well on plastics (and incredibly cheap and accessible)... smooth peanut butter.. although not sure if this would actually _remove_ water stains

Can't say I've experienced the issue myself.. but G101 and 303 Aerospace Protectant are my usual tools for cleaning and dressing plastics, both interiors and under the bonnet
