Just been watching the QC on Minis, my god could Land Rover learn something from watching the program which seems to have featured not a single item from JLR so far, only Mini, Nissan and Toyota.................. EVERY Mini that comes off the production line is driven on special surfaces to find rattles which, if found, means the car is taken back for remedial care to cure the rattles. I've never seen anything like this on my 4 factory visits to Halewood and Solihull............... I have seen new FL2s driven outside the Halewood during my factory visit and tour guide said its for quality checking.
Finally JLR had a small part in the program, showing the 3D CAD and showing a Disco sport door testing by robots by opening and closing them for 84000 times.
Agree with you Tim, its quite impressive what Mini is doing , would love to see a similar TV program for JLR.

The bit about how Aston Martin engineers/ models sound so that a door closing sounds "right"! Something I had never really thought about other than that they either sound substantial asnd heavy or tinny and lightweight. associated with it...
