I topped off the tank this morning and on the way home, the car came up with a low fuel warning! I stopped the car, had a look underneath just in case I had left a trail of diesel but when I restarted the car, everything back to normal and the fuel gauge showing a full tank.

Any ideas?

We had this on our 2011 RRS 4 weeks after purchasing it, it's a common fault with the sensor, had ours sorted by the main dealer

"Empty" again this morning! A trip to the local dealer on its way!

As mentioned, garage reckons a corroded sensor! It unfortunately involves dropping the tank! The notes on their computer says "ask the customer to only have up to a quarter tank of fuel"...errr...not easy when there is no reading on the gauge!

I'm feeling a bit lighter now...to the tune of £267...but the gauge is now working correctly. I got a Discovery Sport as a courtesy car for the day too! Very impressed with it.

Yesterday morning, I got in the car and the low fuel warning light came on again! After cursing all and sundry, especially those at the local dealership, I realised that the gauge was working OK but I really did need to get more fuel.

I take it you don't have a warranty then?

brought our service forward to today so they can look into the gauge fault as well, so typically it started working ok again a few days ago

so no fault to confirm whats wrong, £160 to drop tank and change the connectors, though warranty covered this
"should do" confirm tomorrow

on the up side Winter wheels now on and ATR's are in the boot and Tow bar confirmed all good
