The vehicle will be 5 years old next month and has 50k on the clock.
Shall I source the parts and oil myself?
Is there any reputable VAT Registered places in Birmingham?

I would be interested to hear any recommendations too and was about to post a similar subject.

DSJ - in response to your initial question I personally wouldn't service the car myself as I think future buyers expect to see a stamped service book.
