United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black
Advise on 2012 Autobiography

Hi All,

Newbie here and looking to purchase a 2012 Autobiography SDV6, I apologise now if I get any acronyms wrong.

I have recently found one with the following spec and wanted to get the forums feeling about it.

Year: 2012
Engine: SDV6
Color: Black
Millage: 15k
Full LR Service history
Extras: Rear Screen Entertainment, hybrid front screen (Passenger can watch movies while driving), 3 x headphones
2yr LR warranty
Price: £44k
Problems: Smoke - The dealer has said they will send the car to a professional company to get the smoke removed

Wear on the drivers seat only on the lip of the seat as you get in and out of the car. A small puncture and the usual stretch marks.

This seems like a good deal but too good to be true?

Thanks to anyone who can give advise!

Cheers,

Gary

seat worn with low mileage like that? Mine has 20k miles and seat is fine.
Smoke? do you means tints?
£44k dealer money i think, not a bargain.
nice car though , good luck. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

thank for the reply TDV8HST.

When I say Smoke I mean smoke smell in the car which they are going to get rid of.

I was also quite surprised about the drivers seat, unless the last owners literally drove 2miles everyday over 3 years and wore it out.

Hi Gary, I'm not in a position to buy at the minute or else I'd have this

http://www.marshallweb.co.uk/land-rover/us...ver-sport/

£44k seems steep to me, even allowing for low mileage.

And if you're budgeting £44k

Hmm some mileage differance there spike.
As for the smoke i would have thought a full interior valet will sort that.
Black car with a lot less miles than spikes ones i would have said around £40k. with the seat sorted though. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Is mileage (in a car with Full LRSH for example) a major issue, especially if maintained appropriately ?

If you were planning on keeping the car for a few years ?

It's just that I've started to look at higher spec with higher mileage - am I dropping a Censored ? False economy ?

The 2013 HSE Black Edition with 19.5k miles I part exchanged last month was put up for sale at £43,500. It disappeared in a few days so I am assuming sold very quickly (confirming the salesman's prediction that "with this mileage and condition it will fly out of the showroom"). I don't know what it actually sold for but can't imagine it would be too much lower than the asking price because it didn't hang around for too long. With an approved warranty and a service plan that dealers often include in the deal, the price may have been perceived as attractive by the buyer.

A 2012 Autobiography with 15k miles at £44k may be OK once the issues are sorted and warranty & service plan are included. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone
Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory
Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned that it will have a 2 yr warranty and 2yr service pack included.

The main things that has attracted me to this one specifically is only 15k miles, Surround Camera (the mrs is going to drive it as well), Rear Entertainment system, front dual view screen. Other than the drivers seat which they are going to work on everything is immaculate.

thanks for your help lads and I'm sure you will be seeing a lot more of me around here!

Excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between the MY12 and MY13?

I Google it but couldn't see the difference
