Lazy entry doesnt seem to work, it is enabled in settings

Good morning all,

My TDV8 lazy entry doesn't seem to be working. it is enabled in the settings, I've only had the RRS a few days and think I've got to find out all the little extras etc, but just struggling with this one... hopefully I'm doing something obvious wrong, or there is a reset that clears everything to start again!

Anyway, just bought the car so memory seats were set to previous owner, it worked because the seller told me he didn't realise it had it for a while and was annoyed that every time he got in the car the seat had changed Laughing

so when I got home, I unlocked it with the spare key and the seat moved itself to another position. all seemed to be working ok. I them put my key in the ignition moved the seat to my position and set it as memory 1.

Then got the missus, put her key in the ignition and she moved the seat to her position and saved it to memory 2. The memory buttons now move it to desired positions as it should, however the lazy entry isn't working, if we unlock it with the alternative key the seat seems to just jolt slightly and not move.

Any ideas, are we doing something wrong? have I broken it? it seems weird because it was working before we changed the positions!

I've disabled it and enabled it again, but no difference.

Thanks
Wilson

Sorted it.... just in case anyone searches this in future, each key is specific to a memory location, so I was setting it up the wrong way round!

1 key is specific to memory 1 and the other is specific to memory 2.

a whole topic just speaking to myself Laughing Embarassed

Hi Wilson,
just so your not talking to yourself Laughing
From memory (mine that is) don't think the keys set to a particular setting of the seat memory with lazy entry the key you are using stores the seat position as you leave and lock the car, so it remembers the position the last time that key was used.
so if use swmbo's key and move the seat to your position say memory 1 then her key will remember that and next time it used will go back to mem1 and not her preset of Mem2
but if she then sets Mem2 from the seat and gets out locks car it will remember that.

Did that all make sense Thumbs Up

Well what you've just said is how I originally thought it was supposed to work :-/

Is there a way of clearing all memories and starting from scratch?

Hi
don't know about clearing and starting again Confused

If you set your position as Mem1 and swmbo sets Mem2 then you use one key select Mem1 get out and lock car it will then remember your position.
swmbo uses the other key gets in and selects Mem2 then gets out and locks car it will remember that

as long as you both use different keys all should be good and each time you use your key if swmbo has used the car it will go to your position when it opens up Thumbs Up

I know I said swmbo does her bit bit what really happens is you do it all and just give her the correct key to use

we had our blood donor tags to know whos was whos Laughing
