Battery isue

Hi guys .
Been having an issue with my battery draining after not using the car for a day or so at a time. It's taking 2 or 3 attempts to start up each morning, I'm not exactly sure what's draining it . My compressor is due to be replaced in the next couple weeks and when I'm parking up it's taking sometimes 3 or 4 attempts to get the car to access height. Maybe the turning egnition off and on repeatedly to get the car down could be draining the battery ?
Also there's a bonnet open mesage on the screen now and then so not sure if the sensors draining the battery?
3 weeks ago my car was in the body shop and the guy said the battery went pretty low as they had the radio on for quite a bit. I had No real problem before this just the occasional low power flashing up on radio upon first start up.
I don't do long journeys in the car so maybe the batteries not had a chance to fully charge since the body shop had it ?

I plugged my eas module in last night after a short journey and the voltage came up at 13.7 v , plugged it in this morning and it's dropped to 10.7v

How long a journey should the battery take to fully charge ?
Been looking at a solar trickle charger as the car sits through the night and most of the day without moving so this would help keep the voltage where it should be

Any input would be appreciated

If it's the original battery, there is a good chance the battery will be on its last legs, and as the weather has turned colder during the night, it is taking its toll.

Alternatively, there are known issues with battery drains on the RRS.

While a new battery can only be a good thing coming into winter, it would be well worthwhile checking for battery drains before splashing the cash Thumbs Up

Yes mike it's the original battery . Is there any specific battery that I should be looking at ?
Also is it common for 'transmission fault' to flash up after I get the car going ? 2009 TDV8 RRS Stornoway grey

Had similar problem a few months back, had all sorts of warning messages, battery went flat and jump started, battery never fully charged up even after a 3 hour long drive. I then bought a ctek charger, charged the battery on the mains, car now has been perfectly fine since after its full charge Very Happy

Have been advised if battery is low, it will never fully charge no matter how long u take the car for a good run Rolling with laughter RRS SUPERCHARGED, 22 INCH ALLOYS, JAVA BLACK, FULLY COLOUR CODED

So the battery had been losing 2volts over night and it's always turned over and started . However today it turned over then nothing , eas read the battery at 9.8v but it wasn't turning over . Transmission fault on the display . Any ideas ? Hoping it's nothing more than a batt problem 2009 TDV8 RRS Stornoway grey

At 9.8v, there is next to no useable power in the battery Thumbs Up

Just in case you do end up checking for a battery drain, the acceptable figures are as follows

And that's right.... It will never 100% charge from just running the car. But you have 100% charged it by putting the CTek on it.

Cheers guys.
I had my trickle charger on it a couple nights ago and the battery reading was about 12.7v in the morning and started first time perfectly. However it dropped during the day.

Iv noticed when it's turning over the voltage reading jumps up to over 10v and climbs until eventually it will start .

New battery ordered tonight , can't go wrong with a new battery and hopefully all will be solved
