United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
7 seat retro fit

Hi,
I finally got a date before Xmas so ordered my new car yesterday, very excited as its my first new car. I swore I would never buy new but the fact that 12 month old cars are so close to new and I can spec exactly as I want made up my mind.

One option I couldn't justify the cost of was the 7 seats, although having 2 small children I am sure at times they would come in useful but not at £3k. My question is can these seats be fitted? I have seen them for sale on eBay so are they plug and play? Are all the electrics already installed so other than the seats and seat belts is this an option? Anyone done this? 16MY RRS, Fuji, Dynamic with AB kit, stealth pack - LOVE IT!

I ordered 7 seats with my car. I don't think the can be retrofitted as the seats are fully motorized. In practical terms they are very difficult to get in an out of, and probably only suitable for small children upto the age of 6-7. My eldest is only 2 and he will need to wait until he is large enough to sit in a booster seat before he can use the third row.

In any case its such a rare option that I personally think the 7 seaters will carry a premium of at least £1600 when being sold on the used market in 3 years time. MY16 (65) RRS, HSE, White, 21" 507s, Pan/Black Roof, 7 Seats, Ebony/Cirrus, Surround Cams, Fully Color Coded

Never seen a more worthless 7 seat option in any car before - the rears are absolute parcel shelves at best!

Thats harsh.

Dont expect to get an adult in them i dont think it will happen. For kids upto 10 i think they are fine for occasion use.

Ive used mine once so far for the exact purpose i speced them so i think they are worth the £1600.

If i knew i would never used them i wouldnt have paid the £1600 though and got 22" wheels instead of 21" so really it depends on your needs.

I don't think they can be fitted after delivery , what about the 7 seats on the v5 log book . My 13 year old daughter of slight build fits in well , tall enough to see through the gap between the headrest to watch the rse . All good really , the problem is access but if you only use one of the 6/7 you can access through the boot .
We had 22" wheels fitted on our way home from the dealership .

The +2 seats are perfectly fine for my 9 year old for regular use and yesterday I had to drive my oldest and five 15-year old friends and they seemed quite happy for the across town trip. 2015 Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6, Corris Grey

On a side note has anyone used a booster seat like the one in the link below in the third row?

My eldest child is just over 2 years old. I would love to put him in the third row for the very occasional time that I also have my parents in the car. MY16 (65) RRS, HSE, White, 21" 507s, Pan/Black Roof, 7 Seats, Ebony/Cirrus, Surround Cams, Fully Color Coded

Yes I have put my child in third row in a seat similar to that for the same purpose.
