Hate to disagree but whilst it might be similar to what BMW have I've not seen one that stitch the images together so well that it looks seamless.

JasSmiths you have obviously not seen the BMW system as it is identical to this and provides a birds eye view. It's camera trickery at it's best. Go take a look at the BMW system which has cameras under the wing mirrors (none in bumpers that are related to surround view). If you waive your hand under the mirror whilst the system is on you can see your hand which proves it is camera trickery and not CGI.

RRSman. . Jasmiths is absolutely right btw.. and if u had cameras on your sport you too would notice they are in the wing mirrors as well as the bumpers.. you can do the hand waving trick on the rrs as well. It's not cgi but it is 360 degree video stitching in very high quality HD. P400e HSE Portofino Blue and Ivory Seats.. it's like a yacht!!

Interesting in that case the BMW system is more clever! As I said my X5 had surround view and only had a rear camera with cameras under the mirrors with none in the front or rear bumpers. If that's the case then the RR system works differently. |

Couldn't have given the view to the front then, like this: |

Workshop manual says that each camera use a reference point of the car to calibrate itself, for example wing mirror cameras look for the shut line of the doors and lower sill trim so system knows camera is giving the right picture to combine all four cameras digitally. Quite clever. |

Do you get a contrast roof if yours has one in the display? And is the colour of the car always matching! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys. |

Exactly- see the difference - the BMW does not show the front where as the RRS does probably due to the cameras in the bumpers. |

I ordered this expecting a gimmick, but the MY16 surround camers are fantastic, and hopefully will help keep my wheels kerb free. I was only expected the aeriel view, and I had no idea of the different camera views available.

Yep - agree it is fantastic - especially when compared to the surround view on the previous model - what was all that about |
