I insured my car with Bell Insurance - £1,100 which was the best I could find. 49 years old, 27 year old daughter on the policy, zero NCD (as I had not owned a car for several years). No accidents and no convictions and living in the middle of London. The policy was for a 10 month policy which on a monthly basis absurdly worked out cheaper than a 12 month policy.

FKarim, does NFU Mutual allow offroad use and cover trailer and roof rack/box contents in their terms and do they guarantee genuine Land Rover parts will be used to make any repairs? I'm with Land Rover Insurance and with full NCD and free legal cover and protected NCD as well as offroad use and trailer and roofrack cover etc etc, and (very importantly) a guarantee that the car will only be repaired at a Land Rover approved repair shop so warranties are not affected by using non-Land Rover bits. They also consider my Defender and RRSport to be a "Fleet" and cover both on the same policy now! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Haven't checked about roof box, trailer, off-road but I don't require this cover. I discussed genuine parts etc. and was at least verbally told LR dealers will count as their "approved" and I can get it repaired at whichever dealer I choose. I haven't read the fine print though. If what I was told on the phone is correct, it's fine for me because LR dealers will only fit genuine parts (I hope!).

Its not your age, Violet, its where you live! My brother who is 2 years older than me lives in Bethnal Green and drives a MY2015 RRS HSE, exactly the same as myself. I pay a few pounds under £300 per year (part of a multi-car policy) and he pays £1,208 per year insurance, over 4 times as much! Crazy but true.

Once you get to 60 it will start to go up more too............. and if you insure with Saga Insurance for the over 50's then they are about the most expensive quote I have ever had and they wouldn't quote for off-road use! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes...Bell did the same to me. However, I called them and they reduced the quote by 60%! 32, 1 year NCD (new policy, running main policy on my RX8), Kent location. Paying approx £1200 now. 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography |
