I would imagine the blade you talk of is car specific as any other conventional key is, and only available through the dealer, not as if you could buy one off ebay 2010 RRS, TDV8

I think you are missing the fact the thief would be more inclined to insert a screwdriver down the side of the window and shatter it and be in and out instead of obtaining a key and opening the door |

The key blade uses a profile called a HU101 and has 10 cuts in the key. The locks have 10 wafers in them. Each wafer has 5 different heights and the 10 cuts on the key have to match the heights of the wafers in the lock. If you want to do the maths you could work out the different possible combinations and the chances of yours being the same as someone else's are similar to winning the lottery. 16 model year yulong white autobiography

Haha no worries every car on the road has to have a key lock for entry but a lot of newer cars now are hidden under caps next to the handles. 16 model year yulong white autobiography

My brother parked his blue D2 at the metro centre and when he came back he opened and got in the wrong blue D2 using his remote - he only realised because of the bags inside that he didn't recognise

I hope things have moved on since D2............... I was warned when I had mine to "doctor" the rear lighting units so that the attaching screws couldn't be unscrewed as removal of one of the rear light clusters also disabled the security system........... great British Design Features N0 1! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
