Hello - is anyone else experiencing a bad smell coming from the aircon each time the car is started up. It goes off after a few minutes. The dealer looked at it and claim the pollen filter has been since been changed and that they have deodorised but still smells. Appreciate any tips or guidance. My car is a 63 plate HSE Dynamic. Tx.

This seems to be a relatively common problem. Here's some info from the U.S. board:

"ATCM can not maintain the AC evaporator temperature within effective range throughout start stop cycle as per LTB00709NAS1.
Verified customer concern. Performed ATCM module software update as per LTB00709NAS1. Checked ok."

Interesting as mine occasionally gives a sweet, sick type smell in town driving and using stop/start quite a lot......... The car is only 6 months old so I figured that the system didn't need cleaning/ flushing 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

My 63 plate always had a pretty dreadful musty aroma for a brief while on start up...but this new one April 15 emits quite a decent aroma probably a bit sweet as Tim says, but not sickly...more like toothpaste! But at least the car smells fresh on a journey.
