Clunky / Jerky gearbox when car is cold anyone ?

Feedback from owners please.

After leaving the car overnight when first drive it upto around 30mph and back to a junction stop in a small housing estate area for example so really slow and steady driving.

When coming to a stop at the end of a street the car has a hesitation and almost gives you a kick you can feel through the car and the passengers can feel it to. This is when the car is cold when it has warmed up its fine.

Anyone else get the same ?

I had two demo cars previous to collecting mine and the same daily drive I did not pick up on this.

Really interested to get a clear view from owners if this is normal ?

no, not noticed that, are you sure it isn't the start/stop about to kick in but cancelled by movement? Either way I'd take a trip to the dealer and get it checked out.

No its not the stop start as it happens before the car has come to a stop.

Its when your breaking upto the end of the road slowing from 30mph to 25/20mph you then get the jerk when it changes gear and the rev counter jumps up and down a hundred or so revs.

I think it must be going from 3rd to 2nd as I don't think it goes into first when still moving and rarely at all.

Ive tried to get it on video but cant. Dealer is aware of the problem which I reported straight away im not going to get fobbed off with there is no errors and its normal as I know the demo cars Ive used for weeks didn't do it.

The more people I can get feedback from the better. As its fine when its warm the dealer will get very little time to see my problem taking a service guy out will not help as car will then be warmed up and working.

I do not notice this at all. The only slightly clumsy thing about the gearbox for me is the lurch from 1st to second under hard acceleration sometimes. It almost feels like 1st gear is not needed.

Thanks this isn't like that it is literally in the first 100m when I come to the end of my road it almost fails to disengage the gear and it just feels wrong with the revs jumping from 1k to 1100 which is the feeling it gives that it can't be right. Having had 3 x5s and also have a q3 now none of which do this.

I've left the car with the dealer but as its only on cold start and the first few metres are most crucial I'm half expecting to get a no fault found. I have a loan car exactly the same engine as mine so I'll know tomorrow if it's just me or if it's my car.

I guess the lack of answers on the post shows nobody else seems to have the issue I'm trying to explain.

Yes it did and I have submitted a letter about it. The car was then fixed which took 14 days so I had it back whilst awaiting a reply to my letter as per the dealers advise.

I still have this problem though hence me asking if it's normal as I will need to be sure of things as the dealer wants feedback on the repair and I'm reluctant to say it's fixed with this problem which is why the feedback from fellow owners is helpful.
