Anyone else thinking of replacing their diesel RRS?

This anti-diesel rhetoric seems to get worse by the day. First urban area clean air penalties, now the VW scandal (sure to be the first of many) and also rumours of diesel production issues around the corner.

Although no dealer I've spoken to seems remotely concerned - or aware - of these issues, I'm looking at biting the bullet and chopping in my beloved TDV8 for a petrol. poss upgrading to 2009 trim.

Anyone thinking of doing the same?

What are the issues I should be looking at? Need Logic 7. Autobiography worth the extra? TDV8 2007 window tints, Logic 7, side steps.

The main issue would be mpg if it was of any concern, my TDV8 averaged 25mpg my 5.0L S/C averages 13mpg. in addition diesel is currently cheaper than petrol.

Cheers

I'm thinking about it for the miles I do, petrol probably makes no odds but will make a great deal of difference in the Very Happy factor on longer a-road journeys Wink

Now that petrol and diesel are both cheap, and particularly now that diesel is cheaper than petrol (for the first time in living memory) there is no likelihood of me changing.

I would love to replace mine with a V8 S/C but the purchase price is ludicrous (as well as the depreciation) and although for my 8000 to 10,000 miles a year a petrol is probably a better choice, it would break my heart to have to pull off the motorway on the 3 or 4 drives I make a year from one end of the UK to the other just to refuel at motorway services prices............... I did consider replacing my Evoque with a V6 S/C Jaguar F Type Coupe in March instead of going for the RRS but then the AWD version was olnly just announced and hadn't actually reached the dealers. Pity that the V6 gas engine available in some markets has never been offered in the UK or Europe 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
