What's the deal with the new road tax layout when you come to changing cars?
I pay direct debit monthly on my Merc that should be in for part ex against a RRS that I plan to pick up a week this Thursday.
I presume for the month of October I will paying road tax on two cars at once even though one I will no longer own but it's already a day in October?

Yup that's it.

You'll would get back the clear months left but you pay from 1st of month on your new vehicle, so dear old Mr Osborne will get the windfall he needs.

I arranged to pick my RRS up on the 1st of the month, and SORN my Audi that I was putting in in part ex, on the 31st. Another Governmental money spinner. I bet they were wetting themselves laughing when they were sat around the table devising this one.

Its wrong that it has to be a full month because if your driving a car in and one out, there is no way to not pay for two cars for one month. That means for one month I pay £84 road tax to drive one one car. grrrrrr
