Deployable side steps

Hi
Anybody else fitted the deployable side steps? I've done mine today followed the not to great instructions & can't get them to work?.. I thought they were plug &splay? But do I need to get them programmed at the dealer?
Thanks for any help

Wow very impressive if you fit them yourself within one day! I have enquired in a few places and all say the need the car for two days and programming is required!

I didn't realise it could be done anywhere other than main dealer. What is the cost of having it installed at an independent garage. Unfortunately I could not justify 3k for it.

Thanks for the replies, I do own my own garage so I found the installation quite easy, although I've never taken a brand new Range Rover apart ,the hardest bit is getting the loom in.
The reason I could not get them working earlier is simple 😊didn't read the instructions properly lol & dare I say it, had to get the wife to help me as they seem to be able to read instructions better than us blokes 😊

I can confirm they are plug & play ,no dealer required

If anyone needs any help if you're thinking of getting a set let me know

I will get some pictures up shortly, been tweaking a few other things as well so it's not quite ready yet 👍

@Leecccmk1 how much did they cost you to get, and where can you buy some from?

Thats great well done Thumbs Up

I'd be interested in having these installed if decently priced! £2k is a joke!

Agreed if it was sensible price then wouldn't mind doing this!

As much info & pics as possible would be great!

Good job, the pictograms instructions generally are very poor. A picture may say a thousand words but sometimes some words would help. I had a quick look at them a few months ago and was amazed how much of the car had to come apart internally to fit that loom. Having seen the crack-handed dealer efforts on other options, I wouldn't trust them to do it.

Is it possible to attach the steps without jacking the car up which I think would get in the way, or do you need to have a proper 4 point lift?

It does surprise me that this option is not available factory fit. Even if the actual fitting is still done by the dealer, installing the loom and control unit as the car is built would save a lot of time and avoid the problem of broken trim clips and parts left over... Mark

I own my own body shop so I got mine from my Land Rover dealer but I nailed them on price as there is a land rover dealer selling them on eBay for around £1820. Which is roughly £1500 +vat,it is I think 22.5% off.

Stripping delicate parts is no problem for me tbh,it took longer than expected but I was in no rush, the under trays need trimming to fit around the steps etc,so quite a bit of faffing about, easy for body shop guys but not the kind of tools main dealers keep.there is no way I would let any dealer fit these for me

If I were to do it again it would take me half the time it did,it also can all be done with the car set to the off road height setting no jacking req

The other thing to mention is put the car into service mode on the incontrol app or when you disconnect the battery you will get a call from jlr security if you don't 😊

Pm me if you need help to fit them,I'm based on the Herts/beds border

Cheers
Lee
