Radio/Climate Control Spare Switch Spots

I am wanting to install a couple of extra switches and indicator lights to the dash of my 07MY, There are a few spare switch spots around the radio and climate control panels.

Can any one tell me if these spots are just blanks or if there is something behind them that may prevent their use. I would hate to pull the radio and panels out only to find they are not usable.

Thanks

I can't remember fully but I don't think you can although there are blank's it is a complete switch pack with a circuit board inside for all the switches, so there is no room behind the blank positions for a switch to locate, as I did look at this when I was trying to do something but as I say can't really remember.

Cheers
