Mine did exactly this. It was intermittent but when it was doing it, seat position didn't matter.

The trim panels just pop off and the seat is held in by 5 star nuts, the bottom bolster is held by 4 star nuts directly in the bottom of it...

Not sure if it's a fixing or not, it feels like a squeaky spring, are there springs in the seats? 3.0 HSE RRS Stornaway (current)

The bottom is just foam on an aluminium type shaper base so no there no springs.. May be a component in the subframe itself. |

My seat squeaks where the base rubs against the side of the central tunnel. I can stop the squeak by putting a finger down between seat and the side of the tunnel. I notice that the seat trim here is a suede look which is presumably because of the rubbing that occurs. I keep meaning to put a piece of thin plastic between the seat and tunnel to act as a slip layer and see if it has an effect. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
